QUESTIONS FROM READERS----CHECK THIS OUT!

seeing as i have the wt in front of me today, i thought you'd enjoy the questions from readers from the february 15, 2007 article on the evils and pagan origins on toasting or clinking of glasses.

the article specifically mentions how not everything today that was of pagan origin is necessarily bad, and sites "wedding rings" as being of pagan origin, but it's not viewed like that now.

then, incredibly, they go on and say that while toasting might not be considered a religious practice today, there's "good reason" for christians to avoid it------without giving any valid reason why other than: do as we say:.

War on Iraq

i was listening to a radio program this morning regarding the war in iraq and someone made the statement of: "how would you feel if you were catholic and the government came and told you that you would need to convert to what the government believed.

" the radio personality relayed this as to what part of the war was all about -- conversion the western american culture.

isn't that suppose to be the type of persecution the jw's are supposed to get?

My two JW friends say that the military is nothing but murderurs. I once said to them, What about the Police? they said the police keep the laws of the land for people to obey some of Gods laws. But here is the question we should remember. What if USA had no military and some country comes in and takes control and the "some" laws of God are thrown away and "our" laws are thrown away and we are turned into communist. to me , i think God would want us to stand up for these Laws of the land if it was threatened.

Glass Clinking Still from Satan per latest QFR

my wife and i have for many years thought that glass clinking was soon going to go the way of wind chimes and pinatas.

we were both blown away by the recent "questions from readers" saying that toasting is still the work of the devil and not for christians.. i even had an elder in my hall admit the logic didn't really hold up.

anyway, i thought it was definitely "food at the proper time" .

Ghosts and using God's name

okay im just gonna ask my question because i'm curious.

i'm still not even sure if there are actual witnesses here or just people aruging with them (some people have too much free time) .

see lately i've been watching this show "a haunting" and a lot of the episodes are the same.

The Lord's prayer, why JW's never say it

we all know it's not an issue if people say the lord's prayer or not, but except for the fact that jw's make it an issue.

to them it's kinda like the boogie man and to say it makes you part of christendom, ripe for destruction.. this thread is in response to another thread.i finally took some time to look into information to make a reply.. http://www.jehovahs-witness.com/10/130602/2.ashx.

Im a bit confused on what your all saying about repeat prayers of the same thing but here is me. I was never a Jehovahs witness, but i respected them more than my family, I found myself in my bed announcing my prayers to jehovah god. What happened? prayers were not answered and I got worse doing meth "as i said in another thread awhile back" and one day, I announced my prayers to Jesus "I was not apart of a church nor did i ever go to one at that time" and I felt as if I was at peace and I felt as if something happy jumped in me and made me Joyful so I started going to church. My prayers at night are almost the same prayers, something like this "Lord please help me through life and fight the temptations of sexuality and fill that empty place within me that is empty and lonely and that I will be able to learn to fight sin the next time it comes around the corner" It helps me fight temptation, but that lonely empty place is still there . So if a JW wants to say im being possessed by a demon when something jumps in me full of joy, then they might as well be demons to ruin a good spiritual feeling that the bible inspires.

in light of the recent discussion on the 144,000, i thought i would mention a program recently aired on the discovery channel.

it is estimated 6.5 million were laid to rest there.

From what I understood "myself and not a group" the 144,000 was only appointed to the twelve tribes of israel, jacob fathered 12 sons and each of them was givin a territory, thus each tribe had 12,000 in it and it was for Jews not jehovahs witnesses. and no, im not a jew im a hick from wv :P

Not to forget that Jehovahs witnesses believe the churches will be the first to be destroyed. If its my understanding, their just anti-christ. They are trained to "Counter" other teachings instead of trained for the truth.

for about 5 years, ive known 2 jw's that i play online computer games with all the time almost everyday.

i remember the days i spoke to them about god.

i was not christian at that time, but i still read my bible.

Well, My counciler advises me to slow down some on the computer. i usually play 13 hours a day. but i play about 8 hours day now. She also advises me to not watch the news if it bothers me too much which it does bother me alot so i dont watch the news anymore. Ive pretty much limited myself to what I can watch and how long I can do something
